11 elk horns, same day (NEW PICS)

Post by shedhunter » Sat May 01, 2004 12:11 am

Hey Ya'll!

Hope the year is going good for ya! My dad is brand new to the sport of shed hunting, and has some of that beginner luck. He found a 197 gross mule deer his first trip out and today he found his first elk horn (after four unsuccessful trips). It just turned out the first horn lead to 11 other elk horns, and the three sets that he found were over 320. The largest of the sets went 370 (well to be exact 368 1/8") Close enough for me! I'll get some pics of the big bull and the other "small stuff" soon, so check back for pics!

Hey ya'll!

Here are the digital photos from the trip the other day. The big white set goes 370, the browns are 328, and another set of white goes about 300. Hope you enjoy!

These are his first time shed hunting sheds. This big 'ol muley scored 193 or 196, one of the two. Big buck though. I guess that is what you'd call first time or beginners luck, huh?

Seem that nobody appreciates a good set of sheds and some pictures. Well I do! Thanks for the photos and keep em coming.
If your dad ever needs a partner let me know. :) I just don't want to go to the first 4 places. LOL
