I will be rifle hunting in Unit 65. I am buying an over the counter tag and will be hunting by myself. I will probably pack in a spike camp as I did last year and pay a packer to haul out my elk if I have any luck.

Trigger

I shoot a 300 Remington Ultra Mag and I put a custom Jewell trigger in mine and my accuracy increased substantially. I'm not sure if it was the nosie or the kick or both but I was anticipating the shot with the cheap stock trigger. There is no "wall" with a good trigger to let you know that you are ...

My daughter is already talking about wanting to go hunting. She is 3 and recently asked me if I would take her hunting so that she could get a "baby princess elk".

That is fine with me as long as I get the "giant king elk"!

This shed is 2 seasons old so, he should be a dandy this year.

Unit 65

I will be hunting in Unit 65 on public. I will probably hunt first unlimited rifle. I am packing in on foot and hunting unguided and by myself.

I have often wondered about this, and have several deer coming into my yard with one or both ears split. One interesting thing though; I have yet to see a buck with a split ear, but probably 6 does.....??

Guest, You hit the nail on the head. It is sad that people have to wonder whether or not this situation was unethical or not. It was flat out disgraceful. It is obvious that the outfitter knows it so what is there to debate? I could not shoot the buck of a lifetime if he was penned up against an 8' ...
