Re: UNIT 51 NEW MEXICO
I spend A LOT of time in unit 52 but I very seldom see any bear sign. Though last year I was in 51 and it is better bear country. So i would say if you are a resident go ahead and get one.

Re: Mayhill, NM
I will be hunting around there this year. Mayhill has a lot of deer and if he has hay fields you can be sure there will be deer there. Though size might not be in 180's but there are alot of deer there. That's something we don't see just anywhere in N.M.

Re: NM Restricted Muzzleloader tag
Good luck on your hunt. I drew out the muzzle loader hunt in unit 34. A couple friends of mine drew out in the restricted hunt in 37. Restricted is the only way to go. All though my hunt is not a restricted hunt I will either use my flintlock or percussion. NO inlines in my gun rack.

Re: A Question About Plot Hounds.
Some plotts can be aggressive. If handled right and if you get one from parents that were not aggressive to other dogs you should be fine. Dogs do not know the difference between breeds or color of other dogs. Neutered males or females are less likely to be aggressive. Hope this helps.
