Re: You have GOT to check this out!!
Reminds me of going to the Royal Gorge just outside Canyon City, CO years back. Not sure if it the same today, though.
It ain't the size of the gun but the placement of the bullet.

i imagine it still the same. i haven't been there in 3 yrs, but one of my best friends - since we were 5 yrs old- his aunt and uncle own the marina at wallowa lake.Envious of the West wrote:killerbee wrote:wallowa lake, out of joseph oregon.
it's an everyday occurance, and in fact those aren't even the biggest bucks.
Really!! Wow that is wild!! What would you guys guess the big one in the video scores? Is it still like that today? I saw that the video was from 1997, I WANT TO GO!!
last time i was there i seen 1 buck that was easily in the 190's, super heavy with lots of extras. he also had a gut that looked like an over weight , pot-bellied pig
also if you ever go there, you can see a mount of the famous bull "TAFT", CANT REMEMBER THE SCORE, (oohps, caps) but over 400, and was the heard bull from the oridinal group of elk in the eagle caps. cool story, which i might not have 100% correct- but it's a liong history of the bull thats pretty neat to read
Re: You have GOT to check this out!!
That would be a very cool place to visit...especially for a kid. I think being that close to those big bucks would be a memory that would last a lifetime!
Re: You have GOT to check this out!!
That is freakin awesome!! I could look at those bucks all day!!
Re: You have GOT to check this out!!
I may have to plan a vacation up that way. I think I would be a little nervous that close to that much antler, especially if they were hard horned.

It is an amazing place. Go for Chief Joseph Days and enjoy the rodeo. There are tons of hiking trails, and horseback riding. We stayed in some cabins up from the lake and the deer were eating grapes out of my hand. The deer in the park are amazing, and you can get lots of pictures with them.
