Cool buck, and nice picture of him also. What makes you think it's EHD related? Never heard that before.
There is quite a lot of them in So. Utah (particularly on one unit) IMO.

Saw 2 other bucks in velvet but no bumps! Hopefully someone else knows more on EHD ! I know they are conducting a study down there on EHD and how this certain insect transmitts the parasite and causes Hemoraging of the genitals and effects the hormone process! They are trying to find out if the bucks can breed, survive, and if their antlers return to normal years afterward. I am trying to find out more on the study that I saw on the DOW web earlier this year! Maybe a biologist will chime in so I can understand it more or even if I have my facts straight!!

What I know about EHD is that it kills deer within 1-3 days of getting it. Seeing a lot of it where I hunt.

Can a deer even survive EHD after getting it?

that deer doesn't have ehd

Epizootic hemorrhagic disease (EHD) is an acute, infectious, often fatal viral disease of some wild ruminants. This malady, characterized by extensive hemorrhages, has been responsible for significant epizootics in deer in the northern United States and southern Canada.

A similar hemorrhagic disease called bluetongue also occurs throughout the U.S. and Canada. The two diseases are antigenically different.
