Great hunt!
Great hunt!
Im finally making time to share with you all.
I drew a pauns tag this year with my uncle. What a fun time it was. Im use to hunting northwest Utah where if you see a buck chances are its the only one you will see. The pauns is completly different we seen multiple bucks every day. Like most people that have told me their hunt story or ones I have read on the forums, I also had my hopes set on that buck of a life time and passed up a really nice buck I should have taken the first couple days of the hunt. (mostly I didnt want the hunt to be over so soon.)
When I first spotted this buck he had his head as deep in some oak brush as possible. He finally lifted his head just to give me a peek at his horns and then was gone just like that. I knew he was a tall buck so after him I went. When I came up on the area I thought he would be I spooked out a 2-point. I thought for sure they would both take off and leave my in thier tracks. I sat there and watched for maybe 3 minutes when the big one walked out of a deep wash not 70 yards away from me. He gave me a few good angles to really look at the horns.
The rest is an unforgetable memory I will have to share around the camp fire when my kids are old enough to hit the hills with their old man
I want to thank mike and jackson10 for all the help and advice.
