Matched a big one
Matched a big one
I got out in the evening a couple times this week. Once in my neighborhood and yesterday to my good spot that was still buried in snow 2 weeks ago. The snow is mostly gone now and I was able to pick up a few more fresh sheds, including the right side to the big 4 point I found 2 weeks ago. I measured this one at 79-4/8", which is one of my biggest. At first I was not sure it matched because the front fork of the right side is much bigger and the right side feels a bit heavier. However, there are enough similarities and I found them within 500 yards of each other. I'm calling it a match for now. I think I have the right shed from last year as well. Heading out again tomorrow to find some more.

I think it looks like a match. Back forks and bases look perfect. Nice find,I haven't even been out this year.

Re: Matched a big one
I got out again today and broke in my new boots walking 11.5 miles. I found 5 deer antlers, all 2 points and only one of them fresh. Towards the end of the hike I found a nice fresh 6 point elk horn, the first of the year. There were two other shed hunters in my spot, which rarely happens. Usually I don't see anybody in the places I go. I'm not too worried though because one of them was just driving the roads on a 4-wheeler and the other guy was just walking from point A to point B and not doing the grids that I do.
