i saw one yesterday with horns the same color. I don’t have a tag this year or i would have shot it.. not nowhere as big but still had the dark horns and don’t see many that way..

Sorry if I am wrong but this mule deer is fake. Deer do not have horns that dark especially with ivory tips. I think whoever created that rack had it mixed up with an elk.
that deer would be a nice one if it wasnt fake. it is obvious somebody made those horns or at least colored them. theres not many things a taxidermist cant do
Bucks that come from burned forests end up with black horns from rubbing on blackend burned trees. I shot a buck in Montana a few years back that was just as black, not big like that but black horned
